Four Main Energy Leaks
in Your Thinking

In this lesson, we will look at four sources that most often drain the energy of a person starting a new professional path: noise, unfinished obligations, environment, and beliefs.

Noise

When Your Mind Is Busy With Everything Except What Matters

The first energy leak is informational noise. Noise is not just sound. It is everything that constantly enters your mind but does not help you move toward your goal.

News, stories, endless chats, other people’s problems, random videos, notifications, arguments, alarming headlines, and conversations that leave you feeling worse than before create the feeling of activity. But often, they give you no real value.

Data Is Not the Same as Information

Data

Data is everything that enters your field of vision.

Information

Information is data that has value for your current task.

If you are learning advertising, you need information that helps you understand clients, offers, audiences, creatives, funnels, analytics, and sales. Everything else may simply be noise.

Why Noise Is Dangerous for a Future Specialist

The problem with noise is that it seems harmless: “I will just check for a minute,” “I will just answer,” “I will just scroll.” But every time, the brain switches. And switching costs energy.

Formally, only 10 minutes passed. In reality, you lost the state of concentration.

For a future advertising specialist, attention is an asset. If you do not manage your attention, it will be managed by algorithms, notifications, other people’s requests, and random content.

What to Do With Noise

I

Turn Off What Is Unnecessary

Not every social network, chat, and app should have the right to interrupt your day.

II

Limit the Feed

Learn to look at social media not only as a user, but also as a specialist.

III

Leave Space for Silence

Ideas are not born in an overloaded mind. Sometimes a pause gives more than another motivational video.

Mini Practice

Identify Your Sources of Noise

Write down all the sources of noise that most often take your attention: apps, chats, people, content, notifications, and the time of day when you most often lose focus.

Then choose at least three actions for today: turn off notifications, unsubscribe, limit time, remove an app from the main screen, turn on focus mode, or set specific hours for learning.
